Luminous Arc 3: Eyes Dated For December

By Spencer . September 21, 2009 . 6:55am

Marvelous will release Luminous Arc 3: Eyes on December 10, about a year and half after Luminous Arc 2 came out in Japan. Like the other two titles, Luminous Arc 3 is a blend a strategy RPG with adventure elements.

Story scenes take place during the day in a magic academy. In battle, you control Refi, one of the Knights of Mag. Refi enrolled in the academy after he saw Felicia, a fairy, attack one of his friends while she was searching for the power of the eye. Players get a chance to chat with party members after battle. These after time sequences affect the flow of the story and ultimately the ending.

Plans for an international release have not been announced, but Atlus was keen on the other two. We’re counting on them to pick up Luminous Arc 3.

I have the other two but I wonder how different this one will be? I bought the first to try it out and the sequel because I liked the original but if this one doesn’t offer anything that different I will be hard pressed to buy the same game 3 times.

Hoping Atlas brings it over. From what I heard, they are adding difficulties and two ways on how to level a character.

  • Saturnus

I hope they didn’t replace witches with fairies lol

  • Never played this series.. but the prices of the first game seems to jump around I might wait for a reprint before jumping in.

Part of me wants this on principal (as a SRPG fan), but I never finished the first two, so…

The first game bored me to death. I nearly finished the second one but lost interest…maybe this one will be a winner? I’m looking forward to it.

I tried to like the first Luminous Arc. I really did. But everything just seemed so bland and there’s nothing it does that another SRPG hasn’t done in the past. That’s fine on its own if the rest of the game is interesting, but I just found the setting, world, and characters to be both dull and boring.

From any Luminous Arc lovers out there, why is it so good and is it worth it to play through 2?

i don’t know, but I found the world, characters and story interesting (more so in the second game). So I guess it’s a matter of preference? I also love SRPGs, so playing the same thing over and over again in a different world with different characters really appeals to me. I don’t get bored or loose interest.

Can’t wait. I really hope Atlus brings this one over. :3
