Sega’s Tokyo Game Show trailer for Resonance of Fate (End of Eternity in Japan) is light on action. Instead, Sega reminds us who the main characters are.

Zephyr is the game’s protagonist and a mercenary working underneath Vashyron, an ex-soldier who now owns a private guard. Reanbell is also part of Vashyron’s force. Subject 20 is the most mysterious of the bunch. She’s 19 years old and spent all of her life in a lab. With one year left to live she escapes and the story begins…

  • It has Miki Shinichiro! This game has became an instant buy for me now.

I don’t hear Miki in the trailer, you sure you don’t mean Koyasu Takehito?

The characters and world setting seem interesting, and looks like it would have an awesome soundtrack by Sakuraba + Tanaka Kouhei (veteran anime composer, like Gunbuster, Miyu the Vampire Princess, Sakura Taisen, One Piece, Busou Renkin).

W/ so many RPGs coming, like Magna Carta 2, FF13, and Vesperia PS3, it’s going to be a busy winter.

      • im preety sure its koyasu XD , and Ps3 version better HAVE jap language!
Koyasu , Mikki , and Seki are my fav seiyuus ! *__*

The art style and epicness of this game puts it up there with the level of awe and anticipation for me like the FF XIII games

Something about some of those characters, the mood and look remind me a little bit of Rule of Rose.

I’m looking forward to this game a lot. The environments are interesting, detailed, and the music fits them very well.

So far we’ve only seen 3 playable characters. I hope theres more, but the customization(very large assortment of clothes, weapons, skills, even hair color) may make up for it if not. I still like a variety of party members though.

I’m still a little in the dark about the battle system. From what I can tell it’s not an action game as I previously thought. But a hybrid strategy/turn-based with free movement. I’m guessing, but the closest thing, simply battle mechanics wise would be Eternal Sonata. (Correct me if I’m way off base)

The game does seem to take place entirely in the tower. I just hope the environments don’t get too stale. They could remedy this by having indoor forests and such within the upper “noble” areas. I teems to have a type of point and click hexagonal “World Map” type screen as well.

I’m definitely looking forward to this one, it’s right up there with FF XIII. Please Tri-Ace don’t let me down again.

    • The battle system is closer to what they made in Valkyrie Profile 2. As in, enemies only move when you move… but now you attack from a distance.

I’m in the dark about what they mean by “temporary” and “permanent” damage (machine guns do temporary damage, but follow it up with a pistol attack and it becomes permanent?? I mean… huh? Seems like a design choice to complicate things unnecessarily). But if they just tweak and perfect the Valkyrie Profile style of battles, that is, free-for-alls that happen to employ some level of strategy and timing, I’m all for it.

I think the “temporary” and “permanent” damage thing is a shield break system. Wherein your traditional HP damage increases as you deplete the enemy’s shield. Destroy the shield, and your free to go all out. I think that makes sense……maybe.

I’ve had enough brown, grey, and bloom for two generations. It just isn’t appealing anymore.
