Xbox 360 Elite Temporarily $249 With RebateCoinciding with the launch of Halo 3: ODST, Microsoft is offering a $50 rebate on the purchase of an Xbox 360 Elite. The cash back brings the $299 console down to $249, but only for a short time.

The promotion ends in less than two weeks. October 5th, to be specific, and is, unfortunately, only for residents in the US.

You can read the rebate details at http://www.xbox.com/en-US/eliterebate/ when Microsoft makes the page live later today.

Sony should have done this with the PS3 slim.

When the price drop annoucement was first dropped, Amazon actually had a deal for the Elite too before September, it was a free 4000 pt MS card, so that also made the Elite $250. I didn't order because I was afraid it wouldn't be a Jasper. I might be crazy enough to jump on this and get a black elite to go w/ my magna carta faceplate and try to sell my arcade bundle.

Does anyone know if a 120 to 120 gb HDD transfer would work? I know the requirement is from a smaller to a bigger hard drive, but how about the same size?

I am crazy enough and got it! From Buy.com w/ $10 coupon, so it's $289.99-50 rebate, since I missed out on the amazing Dell 15% off deal ($255 + tax), so I lose out like $20…

I hope I'm not crossing any line here.. anyone want to get an arcade system off of me, feel free to shoot me an e-mail (aoshi00@hotmail.com) w/ an offer. It's less than a yr old, Jasper and runs quiet and cool, in perfect tip top shape since that's how I treat my collection (covered w/ a piece of cloth when not in play). If not, I would just give it to a poor kid or put it in another room to watch Netflix…

When the super elite w/ the 250gb comes it would probably make me regret again, lol..
