PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe Pops Up In Stores

imageSony only released PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe as a PlayStation Network download in North America. In Asia it’s a retail game too.

PixelJunk Monsters UMD Limited Edition went on sale in South Korea for 20,000 won ($17). It’s the same game, just on a disc with a cell phone strap as a goodie. Sony did something similar for the PS3 PixelJunk games too – they put three of them on a disc to make the PixelJunk 3in1 Pack and sold it in stores.

It’s interesting to see Sony push digital distribution in the states and do the opposite in Asia where “PSN-only” games are sold in stores. Oh, and don’t worry. PixelJunk Monsters UMD Limited Edition is in English, in case you’re thinking about importing.

I don’t get why they want to push digital distribution without a disc option. Doesn’t make any sense on Sony’s part outside of cost reduction.

I’m glad I slept on the PJ games. Now I can get it with complete satisfaction in my product! I missed the previous article so now I’m going to go back and purchase that PS3 version. Thanks, Spencer.
