Capcom Wants To Know If You Want Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition As DLC

By Spencer . October 5, 2009 . 4:40pm

image Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition will be a boxed retail game in Japan, but that might not be the case in North America and Europe.

After strong sales of digital only games like Super Street Fighter II HD Remix and the Versus pack for Resident Evil 5, Capcom is exploring the possibility of releasing Lost in Nightmares as a downloadable.

Who decides? You (and Capcom execs that evaluate the survey results). Vote here and tell Capcom whether you want the new content in Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition as a retail game or as a digital content.

Whatever way the vote goes, it’s good to see Capcom listening to their most passionate fans and providing a solution for Xbox 360 owners who want to wander around Spencer’s mansion.

Is it one or the other? I would’ve said DLC, but I got my RE5 on 360, and would like to try PS3’s wand thingy…

  • Well it depends on the file size and how much hours you get into it. It is Resident Evil so a dual release shouldn’t hurt. Capcom can make limited copies…

I just bought the game a month ago, so I’d prefer DLC.

  • In my perfect gaming world I’d like a disc that had this and RE Versus on it (a la Halo Map Pack on Xbox). I’d like for them to do both. It’d be nice for people who haven’t played it to get the whole deal in one shot on disc and for current fans to get it as an add-on DL. I like your idea, Aoshi! I have it on 360, so getting the PS3 version with the extra’s may not be all that bad.

  • I don’t have the game or the hardware to play it on, so I’m not sure if having myself vote will break the system…

Why not release it as both? I won’t download it as DLC.
