Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition Screens Reveal Spencer’s Mansion

By Spencer . October 5, 2009 . 12:36am

New screenshots of Biohazard 5: Alternative Edition (Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition) show Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine in the game’s extra episode, Lost in Nightmares.

Capcom’s bonus scenario takes place inside the head of Umbrella’s home, a European style mansion. Almost feels like a throwback or a nod to Resident Evil where Chris and Jill also explored a mysterious mansion. Jill even kept her trusty lockpicking tool for this mission.

Yeah it’s pretty obvious what they are trying to do with the throw back to old school Resident Evil. Probably hoping to bring back some of the old fans like myself. I might just pick this up but then again who knows, I’ll probably wait and talk to people about it.

Slick, Im in. I can’t wait to play a proper Rsident Evil style game (even if it is just a small sub chapter). I really hope RE6 goes back the brooding soundtrack, scary houses and Capcom had better bring back the zombies as well. I like RE4 & 5 but only because it invloves familiar characters. The games were not scary, no puzzles and overall lack of a need to use you brain was for me a bit insulting. Essentially it was like a FPS, no real thought process needed just point and shoot and at this point I am growing tired of the FPS genre.

plz let their be some zombies or other classic monsters like a mini tyrant boss fight

I’ll probably get this regardless, however, based on a combination of title and the trailer, this is gonna be a dream sequence and not a “what happened back then” story. If it were just the title itself, it could’ve been one, but combined with the trailer, it must be.

How is it a dream? This is what happened before Jill and Wesker fell from the cliff in the original flashback cutscene.

      • Chow

The trailer seems to show everything leading up to the “incident”, and then showing a different outcome, doesn’t it?

        • Rod

Um, no? If you mean Chris and Jill posing with their guns, it’s just an extended part to probably make the fight with Wesker longer than the one in the flashback (which by definition doesn’t contain every single detail of a certain event). Scenes in trailers are always, if not most of the time, mixed and in disorder btw.
