Grandia developer Game Arts is about to make their WiiWare debut. Shadow Walker: The Boy of Shadow and the Fairy of Light is scheduled to come out in Japan on October 27 for 1,000 Wii Points ($10).

The game stars Lux and his blue fairy, Popo. They live in a forest – maybe in the heart of a dark forest because Lux can’t walk directly into the sun. To progress through levels players must walk in shadows. Popo can help by creating shadows from columns for Lux to hide in.

Love the character design, but I hope these screenshots aren’t from levels. They look rather empty.

Yeah the levels don’t look like much, but given you are focusing on the shadows it could lead to some tricky stuff. Then again they could be early levels/tutorials too.

Between this and Hudson’s Lost in Shadow which one interests you more? It’s a toss up for me but I’m aiming more towards Hudson’s game in design though Game Arts have been known to make some rather good games.
