I'm glad I got the standard edition (with the art/cd bonus) for $50 at Fry's. I thought about getting the deluxe edition; however, the online portion of the game is a virtual guide by itself (with people leaving messages/hints and blue phantoms showing you secret paths). Also, the walkthroughs and wikis online provide more than enough information to complete the game.

my friend and i ran around 3 gamestops before one finally had extra in stock the day of release XDDD the first one only had 3 extra copies and were sold out within the hour of opening. The ssecond gamestop, for some reason, wasn't willing to sell two copies to a single purchaser even though my friend was RIGHT THERE NEXT TO ME (he didn't have ID). The third gamestop was reluctant to sell me a second copy but i got it XDDD the dude behind the desk literally sighed heavily when i asked for TWO.

Howard is correct. While there are multiple Demons, in the end it is simply one Demon and its souls. Or, if you get the bad ending, it could be referring to a certain someone's souls. . .

I've decided to accept Howard's explanation. :P I'd heard conflicting reports about the title's significance, but if it's focused on a singular demon, then there is no problem to see.

I got the deluxe edition for the ease of use of the guide as well as for collectors sake. The box and guide just look great, and look to be rare collectors items.

That's a really stupid reason for not picking up an amazing game.
A) It just flows well
B) Its multiple Demon's (hundreds) who contain multiple hundreds of souls, so both are plural.

You collect the many souls of one very big, very scary (well, kind of) demon. They certainly could have called it “The Demon's Souls” or “Souls of the Demon”, but they decided to go with “Demon's Souls”. It is neither a typographical or grammatical error, so I don't really see what the problem is.

I am boycotting this game until someone can show me for sure that the title does not contain a grammatical error. Do you collect the many souls of a single demon? If so, why not use “the” preceding “demon's” or change it to something like “Souls of the Demon?” If you collect the souls of many demons, then this title is an embarrassment, and I will never buy it.

Yeah, I'd be pretty lost without that guide, but then again, I didn't know about the wiki. I'll have to take a look.

I'm so glad I pre-ordered the game because I haven't seen it in stores anywhere. It's easily a top-tier game in the PS3 library, so I guess there's probably more demand for it than Atlus is use to.
