Yggdra Unison Trailer! Touch Screen! Smash!

By Spencer . October 19, 2009 . 6:42am

Sting took Yggdra Unison in a different direction by making this title more like a real time strategy game.

You control units by tapping and dragging them. When it’s time to use team attacks (called unison attacks), players write numbers on the touch screen. Sting carried the number system from the cell phone version, which had players key in numbers to activate allies. Made sense then, but Yggdra Unison isn’t just a mobile game now. The DS version is dated for December 3 in Japan.

i really hated the game when i played it on the psp but after seeing the changes they made on the ds i think i will try it

The game you played on PSP was the toned-down port of the original GBA game. This one is a port of a cell phone game that uses a different gameplay mechanic, and has probably not too much to do with either.

If they release it in NA, I really hope they change the name. "Union" and "Unison" are too similar and are bound to cause confusion...

It's not like it's that different in Japanese, either. I think the similar names are intentional, and I doubt anyone would confuse the two if they took a few seconds to read the back of the box or a review or something.

Besides, I'm always weary of what new, interesting, appropriate (this is sarcasm) title they might come up with.

    Like...

    "Holy infestation of pregnancy, Badwoman"?

I'll gladly take Yggdra Unison, if you please, thank you very much, Atlus.
