Nintendo’s Other Holiday Wii Game

image In addition to New Super Mario Bros. Wii and PokePark: Pikachu’s Big Adventure, Nintendo has one more first party game slated before the end of the year.

And it’s a quiz game. NHK Red and White Quiz Battle is dated for December 17. The title has players go through a generations of TV quiz challenges from charades in the 50’s to a word association game for four players.

NHK Red and White Quiz Battle supports up to six players in quiz battle mode where six Miis test their wits. Since this Wii game is based on a Japanese quiz show chances for a direct localization are slim to none, but Nintendo could drop the license and adapt this for their Touch Generations audience.

    Haha!
Kind of sad that we probably won't see this game, but understandable.
I think it would be cool if it were to be adapted for a North American audience, but it definitely wouldn't be the same game.

    How boring Nintendo.
  • I hope it starts up with:

    "Welcome to the NHK!"

Followed by sentient appliances telling you that the world is conspiring against you. It's true.
  • Is this the same show on KSCI (LA-18) that they air as a New Year's Eve special? At least, I think they're the same show. I've been watching it every New Year's for the past 4 years.

For those curious, It's also known as the Kouhaku Uta Gassen. I try to watch it every year too haha
  • Yeah! They have awesome musical guests too! It's a real event for me since I don't go out on New Years :(

Only problem is that's really really long and starts in the morning (since it is Japan time). I always sleep in on New Years, and forget to wake up early =( sometimes I'll miss the musical guests I was waiting for and I have to sit through long stretches of enka
