Lost Planet 2 Slated For Late 2009?

By Spencer . October 21, 2009 . 11:13am

Maybe, just maybe, Lost Planet 2 will come out this year. A slide from Korea’s Xbox 360 Invitational presentation says Lost Planet 2 is expected to be in stores at the end of 2009.

Capcom has the Xbox 360 version on target “this winter” in Japan while the PlayStation 3 version doesn’t have a release window. December is just a few weeks away so if Capcom is going to ship Lost Planet 2 before the year ends we should hear something soon.

I was pleasantly surprised by the demo, especially after the first one was a bore.

Yuck, you have got to be kidding me. The demo was cringe worthy, maybe your into those broken games that focus only on multiplayer and are unbalanced for single players but Im not. This game played like Monster Hunter with guns, no story, which no matter how goofy the first one was at least it had a narrative for the single player and the multiplayer was what is always should be a seperate mode, Co/op is a fine option for those that care but you should not base the entire game around it. This however looks to be just like RE5 which also made the mistake of assuming that everyone wants to play the entire game with another person all the time, making the AI controlled character(s) too stupid to be anything but annoying. You know the guy who makes this game (his name escapes me) said Japanese game development is finished but in all honesty his recent games do little to prove that he isnt just as washed up. Sales aside RE5 was the worst RE in the series and he already shoved Dead Rising off to another dev.

      • ( I didn’t mean to “like” I meant to reply, I do that a lot.)

You seem to really hate on it. My friend and I loved the game, I haven’t played the first one, but we played the demo more then a dozen times. We love it ^^; First day buy for us. I’m not good at getting into discussions so I’ll leave it at that. I’m one of those multiplayer kinds of gamers though.

“This game played like Monster Hunter with guns, no story,”

Exactly why I liked it. Monster Hunter + guns = awesome. And crappy/no story means I can skip cutscenes to my heart’s content without fear of losing some important tidbit of plot.

Not saying it will be a day-one buy, but I’ll definitely add it to my collection sooner or later.
