Valkyria Chronicles 2 Gives Teens Tanks

By Spencer . October 22, 2009 . 11:49pm

Sega, content on scaling down as much of Valkyria Chronicles as they can, will give portable players a chance to drive tanks in Valkyria Chronicles 2. Apparently, this is part of Lanseal Military Academy’s curriculum as seen in this video.

Who maintains these tanks? Lavinia Lain, that’s who. Lavinia “introduced” herself on the official blog as G group’s official mechanic.

Judging by her conversation with Avan and Cossette, Lavinia also appears to be the group’s resident tomboy stereotype.

ahh I can’t wait for this! I hope Sega keeps the JP audio in it. But considering the space restrictions on UMD’s I’m not gonna get my hopes up. :P

    • nyoron

I feel like they will if possible, since they did it for the original. If not, I’m sure the game will get the good ol’ “undub” treatment…

I too hope they can keep the Japanese audio.

  • nyoron

Loved the first one so I’m really looking forward to this!

wish it was a PS3/360 game though grumble grumble…

    • Pesmerga00

Me too. Such a beautiful game now on the PSP. I’m not saying it will be bad. Just that it could have been better, visually at least.

  • ndjn3979

I’m just curious about the Valkyria in question.

    • raymk

i am too but at least the one they revealed seem to be one of the good guys this time

  • malek86

I say the PSP is becoming this generation’s Saturn: greatly supported by developers in Japan, ignored everywhere else.

  • Ereek

I hope it’s English audio only. With a few exceptions, the English voices were generally better than the Japanese in the original.

Okay, enough trying to disrupt to Japanese-audio-only group. Honestly, the more I see of this game the more it alienates me. I don’t like what I’m seeing, but I’ll probably end up trying it anyway. Don’t knock it before you try it, after all.

alot of people seem to be like you i just hope that doesn’t stop the rest of you from getting it

  • Soma

I really like the series, so I will be picking this up regardless.
Since I’ve gotten used to the Japanese voice cast, I really hope they include that Japanese audio for the PSP release.

  • Nabe

Again, because there are so many who are vocal about having JP audio, I feel I must also be vocal about my dub preferences and say that I would like to see English voices for this game — preferably from the same lovely cast that did the last VC.

Let it be known, people like English voices too!

    • nyoron

Everybody knows that. With a few exceptions Sony requires that games with a retail release get a dub. You have nothing to worry about.

    • zhemos

It’ll be dubbed in English, don’t worry. :P

English dub comes first, in most cases the Japanese dub is thrown in as a bonus if they have enough room.

        English dub FTW
