Mistwalker Artist Unintentionally Leaks Art For New Game?

By Spencer . October 27, 2009 . 3:39pm

Sakaguchi’s studio, Mistwalker, just finished Blue Dragon: Ikai no Kyoju and have moved on to other projects. None of their upcoming works have been announced, but thanks to Watanabe, one Mistwalker’s artists, we may have an early look at one of them.

Watanabe’s newly posted creator page has a photo of him and his monitors. One screen shows a grassy hill and a partially colored character. Perhaps, this incomplete drawing is work for the mysterious game Mistwalker is rushing to complete.

A game about a shepherd? That would be interesting.

    • JeremyR

Only if you are from New Zealand…(or Scotland, I guess)

      • MisterNiwa

Well, im from germany, and a RPG with a shepherd as main character is a cool idea. 8(

  • Didn’t they say something about using some art from Cry On for this game?

    • Aoshi00

I hope so, since Cry On was such a cool concept, but the earlier version was even cooler since it was done by the same artist of Drakengard. Doesn’t this artist look kind of like Kaim from Lost Odyssey :)

Hard to tell what the art is about, hopefully more would surface.

  • I am interested in this mystery game.

this could be concept art of scenery in this mystery game!?…maby…

  • nice photo

  • Hraesvelgr

Hopefully the game is more like Lost Odyssey and less like Blue Dragon.

  • Soma

    That definitely looks awesome.
But, it really could be anything. Perhaps even a personal project he’s working on.
I certainly hope it’s for a new mystery game, though. =3

  • he got style, but how a nerdy like him got married =.= the art style is almost identical as ASH…
i think it’s about a black sheep that actually is a king accursed by some spell and the shepherd must summon the power to user that black sheep as a mecha armor to fight evil =p
