Well, id like to get 3D Dot Game Heroes, but only with English Text. =[

  • Kuza21

    I second that comment! : )

Speaking of Zelda homage games, why hasn't Dark Mist been localized to North America yet?

  • badmoogle

I can't wait for this game,it's one of my most anticipated games of 2010 (that's when we'll get it in the west.)
And btw i would also love to see Sakura Note coming here as well, although it's a bit unlikely.:/

Edit:Oops.i just saw the link about Sakura Note and Audio Games.Well,i'm crossing my fingers!

Sakura Note…I just picked this up a few hours ago, mainly on the basis of it looking like Contact. It came with a free music CD as well.

  • TokyoGuy

Also I will say that Sakura Note has AMAZING music. I thought Uematsu had lost his talent years ago (i.e. with Final Fantasy IX) and yet this game is great; a bit different than his normally dramatic style as of late, but much catchier and upbeat.

  • Aoshi00

Uematsu would be the main draw for me as well, as I loved his music from Lost Odyssey and Anata wo Yurusanai, I think the master's still got it. But what do you think about the game? I didn't want to pluck down $60 just for the CD.. I think I would wait for it to be on sale (I got burned by several DS imports that turned out to be less than stellar).

  • TokyoGuy

The game is very good, but if you are hoping for an RPG then you might be disappointed. I am on Chapter 3 (of presumably 5 chapters) and there has only been a single battle in each chapter so far. Basically if you can't read Japanese the game will consist of nothing more than skipping through text and moving the character to the next area for more text.

  • Aoshi00

Thanks for the input, it actually sounds interesting and I was not looking forward to tedious battles. I was wary of this due to the lukewarm reviews saying the story wasn't anything special. I was hoping for a moving story accompanied by Uematsu music.

  • TokyoGuy

Ah, well I don't know if the story is that special really: it's somewhat of a cliched Japanese “growing up” drama. But you also get to play from the point of view of the two pets involved in the story, which is interesting but at the same time, can be tedious when you have to watch the same cut-scenes over and over.

As for the soundtrack, I just took a look at the free OST that came with the game and it has some 28 tracks, which implies there will be no commercial release of the OST. So you might want to get the game with the OST if possible.

I just started the 3rd chapter (I think there're 4 in total right?). I know what you mean by the same scenes being repetitive now, maybe I should just play thru the main story once and go back to the cat/dog perspectives later. I quite enjoy the quirky story. Let's see when the game shoots right to the bargain bin, like ASH (which I liked a lot).
