New Kids On The Block NES Box Sells For $589

We’re just talking about the box. New Kids on the Block Official Video Game from Parker Brothers never made it to stores, but prototype packaging was once in the hands of “a major video game magazine.”

The item has since found its way onto eBay where it sold for $589. It’s pretty beat up (should I say “hangin’ tough”?), but it’s one of a kind keepsake.

Now compare this to all of that Persona 3 Portable swag.

It saddens me to no end there wasn't a Village People game for the 2600

I don't think the high bidder paid. The box is back up for sale (see listing number 120486406833).

Who knew NKTB were still a hot commodity? I watched the cartoons but only because I loved Rodney Dangerfield as a kid.

As far as obscure 90s pop and video games go, my favorite was when Milli Vanilli went to the Mushroom Kingdom.

Do you like 80s metal? There was a game based off Dio's “Holy Diver” that played sort of like Castlevania. Only in Japan, sadly.

There was also a MC Hammer game that was never released by Sega (17:06)

Excellent. Something to show to the wife if she ever complains about my videogame-related spending habits.

Stuff like this makes me not feel so bad when I was on the fence about purchasing the Pre-Release of Chrono Trigger mint… even though I still regret not getting it. =P

Now that's a great idea… Saving this link. ;) Also, is it even worth that much in the beat up condition it's in? Seriously, it looks like one of those boxes a puzzle would come in, with electric tape to keep the cheap arse cardboard from falling apart.
