Kadokawa Remakes Eve: Burst Error For PSP

By Spencer . November 6, 2009 . 12:46pm

I remember hearing positive praise about Eve: Burst Error’s plot, but never picked it up. Maybe I’ll finally get around to playing it since a remake is coming to the PSP.

Kadokawa took the 1995 visual novel and gave it a face lift. They did more than clean up the game’s resolution. Eve the 1st Burst Error has brand new artwork.

Here’s how the two protagonists, Kojirou and Marina looked fifteen years ago…

… and here they are now in an action move pose.

Eve the 1st Burst Error and its younger looking heroes arrive in Japanese stores in March 2010. Be sure to check out Famitsu’s report to see some in game screenshots.

I wonder if we'll ever see even a fraction of Japan's visual novels hit the PSP in the states. Maybe if Disgaea Infinite does really well...

Has NISA confirmed that they're doing it? I hadn't heard.

I liked the 90's version a little more,I Think overall I like the 90's anime style rather than how they are doing it now.

I like the facelift, too bad I'll probably never be able to play this =(

It isn't that bad, thou kinda feels more childish to me in comparison to the original.

The reason Visual novels dont come here is because they're boringand havent progressed at all in terms of ideas or development. In fact, I'd say they've gotten WORSE. I'd much rather play the interesting game elements found in PC Engine and PC-FX Turbo CD. Developers back then knew how to create a sprite.

I don't know about the story, but the new art here looks rather horrible and uninteresting.. imagine if Policenauts were to have new simple design like this. It's like TokiMemo, the new 4th installment's art is not appealing to me at all. On the whole, they just don't draw stuffs like back then anymore, some people wanted DB Kai to be redrawn, I think it would look as simple as Blue Dragon if they do.

The new artwork manages to look even less inspired than the old one.
