Rumor Control: No Final Fantasy XIV Beta With Final Fantasy XIII

imageFamitsu explained what the Final Fantasy XIV campaign code is and it’s not for beta test access.

The campaign code bundled with first run copies of Final Fantasy XIII will give Final Fantasy XIV players a secret item. What kind of virtual gift? It’s a secret!

Speaking of Final Fantasy XIV, this week’s issue of Famitsu also has a look at two new classes: a sword swinging gladiator and a pugilist – that’s a type of hand to hand fighter.

  • I wish I was done with MMO’s but it would seem FFXIV wants to break that eternal hiatus. I’m curious about the Pugilist. Is it going to replace Monk or be an offshoot (sub-class)? If it replaces, I wonder if it will be a traditional Pugilist (which is similar to a Boxer?), meaning no kicking or if it will still be a Martial Arts class.

    • The Kanji next to Pugilist means something closer to “fighter” or “grapplist”, and the first two kanji are used in the word for “Martial Arts”, so I think it will be a Martial Arts class to replace Monk

      • Some things are just too obvious and easily overlooked on my part. Thanks a bunch.

  • eliel

im fine with that, don’t u have to pay monthly anyway for FF 14/and 11? or is it free after puchase?…

  • in FF 11 i pay 13 euros every month , and an 1 euro extra if i want to play tetra master , been doing for bout 3 years XD !
FF14 will prolly be the same …

    • That seems so pricey for FFXI! I think it’s $10-$13 here monthly. Yours seems closer to $20!

Yep, it’s a typical pay-to-play scenario as with all the MMO’s out there. No offline options.
