Lupin The Third Learns A Trick From Professor LaytonNamco Bandai is getting into the brain training biz with a little help from Lupin the Third.

On February 4, 2010 they will release Lupin the Third: The Greatest Brain Battle In History a brain teaser adventure game with the Lupin license. Players have to beat IQ missions to progress, which sounds a lot like an anime take on Professor Layton.

It’s pretty amazing to see Level 5’s little puzzle game spawn clones, even if it took two years for a company to come up with one.

Don't really know enough about Professor Layton outside of glance-overs but…

A shame something like Detective Conan flopped over here. The GBA games in its venture were ones I would've liked to see put in English. Far as I know their 'Case Closed' is that.

Then again I don't get how they got a Wii title released in EU and not US under that name about 7 months ago.

Lupin would be another one I wouldn't mind seeing…and it has a lot more of a chance. But I just don't see something like this happening stateside outside of Treasure of the Sorcerer King on the PS2…and I think that only got here because of the binge it was getting from Adult Swim and it was a mixed reception for it at best.

Detective games like this are tough to see over here…and it sucks because I wouldn't mind seeing a lot more like Famicom Tantei that Mato translated on the SNES over here…There is an audience for this type of stuff. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough.

If they put a lot of Fujiko Mine, this game can count with me

I'm surprised it took so long for someone to attempt a clone.

Ah, HECK. I'm gonna be upset if this somehow turns out to be the first good Lupin III game.
