Gundemonium Collection Brings Horizontal Bullet Hell To PCs In May

By Spencer . December 6, 2009 . 8:40am

image There are a lot of bullet hell shooters on the horizon. Not all of them are coming to the States. Gundemonium Collection, a localized bundle of three indie developed shooters, will be available for PCs on May 18, 2010.

Gundemonium Collection has three games: Gundemonium ReCollection, GundeadliGne, and Hitogata Hapa from Platine Dispositif. Out of the three I’m only familiar with Gundemonium ReCollection, a horizontal shooter remake with a neat progressive difficulty. See the “phase level” bar in the top right? When you overheat your gun from firing too much the game gets tougher. Use a bomb to clear the screen and the phase level goes down making the game easier. However, less things to shoot means less possible points to earn.

For $19.99 you get three games with Windows 7 support and fanservice in the form of creator interviews.

Here are more screenshots of Gundemonium ReCollection. Pictures of GundeadliGne and Hitogata Hapa are on Rockin’ Android’s page.

I don’t like progressive difficulty in games… in Twilight Refrain, it was the one thing I hated about it. I prefer fixed difficulty levels.

Anyway, this looks interesting, but I’m not a fan of horizontal shooters (though I’ll admit Progear was pretty cool).

  • Cool extras but talk about DELAY!!!!!!!!!!

    • Given how infrequent doujin titles come out here, I can deal with the delays. Better than nothing I suppose. Still, I’m surprised more don’t come out this way with the popularity of Steam, XNA, and so forth. It’s just such an untapped area of gaming.

    Awesome. Are they available digitally?

    EDIT: They will be.

sold. hope it comes to steam. i’d prefer the digital over the retail, too.

  • CIN

    a doujin game? huh

  • Hey, SUGURI Perfect Edition is only $13.99 right now (till Dec. 11)

I’m loving these bundles. UFO Interactive did that with Ultimate Shooting Collection and, I think, the upcoming Arcade Shooter: Illvelo (man, these titles are crazy). It’s a great way to provide shmups to build up some fans. I have an _extreme_ love/hate relationship with shmups, but I’m looking to broadening my perspective in the genre so this helps.

In their third one, they mention that they completed a contract with Sony that their games will appear on PSN. I’m pretty amazed a little, new company based on niche games are able to take it so far. They get into some business aspects of it, too. The second one with Angry Bananas is pretty crazy…

    • Heh. I guess we can start talking about consoles then. They’re going to appear on more digital platforms than PSN…

Thanks for the heads up :)

    • Thanks for spreading the word, Matty and SiliconEra!

  • This will be retail right?(As in: come in physical packaging with manual and disk(s)?)
