Rockin’ Android Porting Doujin Shooters To PlayStation 3

By Spencer . December 9, 2009 . 12:43pm

As we mentioned before, Rockin’ Android is working on PC to console ports. More specifically, PC to PlayStation 3 ports.

"We just recently completed a contract with Sony,” said Adam Milecki in episode 3 of the Rockin’ Android podcast. “They are porting a few of our games to the PlayStation 3 and they will be available eventually to download on the PlayStation Network. That’s including Acceleration of Suguri and, I believe, Gundemonium is another one.”

Acceleration of Suguri is a shooter fighter, sort of like Wartech: Senko no Ronde with sprites. This kind of frantic game would be a blast to play online on PSN. While the news just covers PlayStation Network we’re confident Rockin’ Android is eying other platforms.

A tip of the hat and glass of orange juice to Matty for the tip. Thanks!

Cool. I’ll remember to pick up Suguri – even if I’d rather have a normal shooter instead of a fighter one.

  • That’s pretty cool actually. I’ve been waiting to see some more shooters on the PSN, especially doujin types. Guess this means I’ll be getting a Japanese PSN card soon, lol.

There’s no way we’ll ever see these on the US PSN store, sadly.

No, that’s really not the case – Rockin’ Android focuses on US releases, and these PSN ports are no exception. Support them with your dollars if you want more US releases like these.

      • Doujin ANYTHING on the US PSN Store? I’ll believe it when I see it.

I’m still wondering how we got Fate/Unlimited Codes up there. I guess stranger things can happen, but we’ll see.

  • Awesome. I mean I’m getting Gundemonium on PC-DVD of course, but cool news regardless!

  • Very nice to see that they’re expanding these games to other platforms. It’s a move that I can see gaining momentum as PSN, WiiWare, and XBLA continue to grow. Now, if they extended this to Steam, I’d be absolutely beside myself. =D

Awesome! This is very exciting to hear.

rar, like Senko no Ronde you say? I’m sold! I was so impressed by “Wartech: Senko no Ronde” I actually bought it, even without owning a 360. I figure this title won’t stay at it’s insane $10 price tag very long (before it becomes rare), and I’ll likely get a 360 in the future, so might as well go for it. Plus practically everyone I know has a 360 any ways, hooray!
