Resonance of Fate Demo Goes Live In Two Weeks

By Spencer . December 11, 2009 . 12:13am

eoeaNot sure about Resonance of Fate’s gun blazing t.a.B battle system? Demo it first.

Sega is preparing a downloadable demo for December 22. The date is for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Gold members, but only Japanese servers. You still have plenty of time to create a Japan region account if you don’t already have one.

The demo teaches players the basics in newcomer mode and has a dungeon to explore. Beat it and the dungeon gets tougher. Complete it again (and again) to unlock extra costumes.

End of Eternity arrives in Japan about a month later on January 28, 2010. Then, on some unannounced time in 2010, Resonance of Fate will ship in North America and Europe.

Sounds great, been waiting for this kind of news!

  • Randgriz

Exellent news, im dying to try out this battle system!
Im very excited about this one

  • MisterNiwa

I am anticipating this game as much as im anticipating Final Fantasy XIII.
Gigantic hopes for this piece of awesomeness.

You know it’s interesting as you and so many others seem quite interested in this game, but there doesn’t seem to be much hype for it here. By far Final Fantasy 13 has eclipsed everything. There are GIANT billboard ads all over, including the largest in Akihabara.

I’m going to try the demo, and plan on purchasing the game out of simple “obligation” that if a new RPG comes out I buy it, but have no interest whatsoever, largely because of the (IMHO) horrible character design. But if the demo is good, perhaps I will be anticipating it yet.

Final Fantasy doesnt need that much of advertisment to get a hype, you could just throw around simple paper with ‘Final Fantasy 2009/12/17′ written on, and everyone would go wild. But i think, Sega will do the right advertisment for End Of Eternity, just like they did with Bayonetta.

Game is less than 2 months away from release….so they certainly haven’t been doing that so far.

          • MisterNiwa

Well Bayonetta jumped out of nowhere aswell! In less than few weeks!

  • badmoogle

I’ll sure try the demo.I’m still a bit curious about this game even though it looks as a very unattractive game in terms of its art direction. It’s almost colorless and the character designs are bland.Story seems uninspiring as well.
If the battle system in the demo fails as much as the graphics, then i’ll pass.

    • Hraesvelgr

Well, tri-Ace isn’t really known for their great character models… That’s what you’re talking about, right?

      • badmoogle

I dunno,i really liked the character models in Valkyrie Profile 2.IMO Silmeria’s overall art direction was much better than what i have seen so far from RoF.It was definitely more colourful.

  • Hraesvelgr

Guess it’ll have to be PSN then, since I don’t think it’s worth re-golding my Japanese XBL account.

  • holyPaladin

Nice demo, wish I can try it..

  • nyobzoo04

this is reason why I have a Japanese PSN account

all right! will get it as soon as its out on Psn ! too bad for 360 owners «« havign to have gold on japanese store , id say this generation you really have to own both platforms «« or something is lost on both sides …

This is one of the first JRPG’s in a LONG time where the combat system actually interests me. I like FFXIII, but the “you can only control one character” dissapoints me. The game seems like alot of fun. The only fault I see is the bland character design and story. The graphics and atmosphere also look pretty, even though it’s pretty much colorless. Thee combat will make up for that though.
