As seen in this month’s Square Enix Europe newsletter, there is a Final Fantasy XIII limited collector’s edition in the works… at least for Europe. Details about the contents remain unannounced. Square Enix Europe also released a Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII collector’s edition which was a game/artbook bundle.

We’ll probably have to wait for another month’s 13th for the reveal. See, Square Enix has something planned for every 13th leading up to the release of Final Fantasy XIII on March 9. This month, it’s the Final Fantasy XIII facebook page and Twitter. Don’t jump out of your seat or anything.

    I want a Lightning PS3.

They launched an FFXIII Twitter, and haven’t posted on it? O_o

I will be extremely disappointed if the US doesn’t get a Limited Edition as well.

Is it just me or does SE NA seem to be taking a backseat to the European SE? Most exciting news seems to come from Europe first.

I want special edition too, but I wouldn’t want a metal case like FFXII, it’s hard to pry the game disc out, also I’d have to be very careful not to scratch or dent it. A 2-disc version w/ different cover art featuring interviews, art gallery, and making of would be pretty good. I ordered the OST alrdy, so I don’t need soundtrack. Still waiting for the chocobo chick for my 360 avatar.

That’s weird; my game comes out really nicely out of my FFXII case.

I hated it, w/ Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm, Lost Planet, and Vesperia LE, not to mention one disc is always on top of the other, instead of being placed on separate disc trays. So I put those games in my CD case until I finish playing them because I don’t feel like putting those in back and forth, just don’t come out as easily as regular plastic case (have to be careful or it feels like I could break something). The really should do it like the Jpn ver of Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragon.

Hah, nothing beats the box job better than MGS4′s Limited Edition. That’s the perfect way to do it.

          • Aoshi00

Exactly. Though I only have the regular edition for the US game and LE for the Jpn version, which also had a cool looking but annoying metal case for the 2nd disc instead of the blu-ray plastic case, but at least they’re in separate cases and not on top of each other.. So basically I want the extra goodies from the LE but would prefer them not have a metal case, just not convenient. I don’t mean to be picky, but I get annoyed when it’s more cumbersome to take out the game disc even though I spent “more” you know.

I still remember when Europe got that cool CE for Ratchet and Clank and we got nothing sure if you pre-ordered but nothing else. I hope we get something did we get something for FFXII?

      Yes, you got 60hz.

If there’s one thing I like about the HD generations (and 480p for the Wii), is that I don’t have to deal with crappy PAL conversions anymore.
