A slew of Final Fantasy XIII themed items are now available in Japan’s PlayStation Home space.

Want a Snow costume? That’s 600 yen. Plush carbuncle? 200 yen, please. All of announced the Final Fantasy XIII PlayStation Home items cost a total of 4,950 yen or $55.50. Can people with a US PS3 somehow access the Japanese Home? I want to look at that free Observation space.

  • kupomogli

I dunno about Home. I know that with stuff like demos and ad-hoc party you can have both the US version and Japanese version, but Home is like a single program and it doesn't go in the games list. I'd assume you may have to delete the US version to install the Japanese version.

Wait…so what does Home do again, other than seem like some offshoot of Second Life that drains your money? I'd love a response if anyone actually uses it. . . .

  • MisterNiwa

I dont use it, but i know its… Playstation's Second Life with lots of games.

What an absolute joke. Charging money for this? PLEASE. Sony should be lucky if anyone even uses its hack-job of a “VR” simulation let alone charging people for the “luxury” of actually customizing their hour-to-load room.

I'm sorry but this is just absurd.

PAY to access a sponsored home space……?

Square Enix can go and f**k themselves. >_>

Looks like Square-Enix is the new Bandai-Namco. Video gaming is an expensive enough hobby as it is, and now they're going and putting this stuff out? It's not surprising anymore, I know… But how much do these companies expect us to spend for these extra things? I hate this DLC stuff. Thankfully, I'm not interested; Home is garbage anyway. Still, 600 yen just for one costume is ridiculous.

you can just make a new profile/user on you ps3 and when regerstering for psn set you region as japan and there you go japan's ps home

  • Aoshi00

You can access Home from both regions at the same time, I did it when it was at Beta, just using different accounts like you do US or Jpn PSN. But yeah, I haven't touched it much since then, totally a waste of time loitering in the lobby w/ no purpose, not to mention the avatars look creepy…

    moneh!

Its like a chatroom with avatars and a few arcade machines to play with. The Yuusha/Badman game in Japan's home was pretty cool, but other than that I haven't really logged into Home.

Aoshi00 is totally right! You just need a Japanese PSN account to get on the Japanese servers. Each region has different content. Japan has more mini-games, an Irem space, and a Nippon Ichi area.

Wait..so it's a personal Home space that you can get for free but afterwards you have to pay for it? How does that work? You cant access into it after that Jan 14th date unless you pay a fee? Or anyone trying to get that space after the 14th have to pay while people before that date get to keep it for free?

I logged into Home once. It was really weird. After letting everything load forever I walked around and turned it off. The arcades and movies sound good on paper but it just doesn't seem worth it in the long run. Especially for the costs. The same friends who complain about XBL costing $50 a year (That's less than $5 a month) buy things in PSN's Home. Just not my cup of tea, I guess. The avatars look good, at least!
