First Look At Konami’s New Captain Tsubasa Game

Konami picked up the rights to Captain Tsubasa and have a game in development to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the series.

The upcoming Nintendo DS title is called Captain Tsubasa: Gekito no Kiseki and it will be revealed at Jump Festa. Konami lists the genre as “command action soccer.” Huh. Wonder if it will be anything like Inazuma Eleven.

Cool, hope it'll be like the old Tecmo games. Or the even the PS2 game, which wasn't too bad at all.

It kind of looks like Inazuma Eleven. Or at least those screenshots of the special moves look a lot like the screenshots of Inazuma's special moves.

    Why DS?

Command action probably means that you will have to input commands either by tapping on the touch screen on selecting from a menu that appears when you press a specific button.

Captain Tsubasa 2 on SNES was pretty nice. I couldn´t understand anything but it was fun to play. The PS2 title was also pretty nice and fun to play, even though you got a bit irritated sometimes when you wanted to be left alone and they charged you hard and you didn´t react fast enough.

I hope it will sell well. I won´t be getting it. Handheld games are a big no-no for me at the moment.
