Final Fantasy XIII Includes PS3 Final Fantasy XIV Beta Application

imageImporters, hold on to your soon-to-be coveted Final Fantasy XIV campaign code! The Final Fantasy XIII bonus item does two things.

The twenty digit code packaged with the first shipment of Final Fantasy XIII gives future Final Fantasy XIV players a secret item when the MMO debuts next year. Before that happens, the campaign code is also a ticket to apply for the PlayStation 3 Final Fantasy XIV beta.

Square Enix did not announce how many Final Fantasy XIV beta testers they will accept, but if you want a chance at the PS3 Final Fantasy XIV beta in Japan you need a campaign code. As of now, there’s no other way to get access to it. Anyone, can apply for the PC beta, though.

A chance at the beta is cool, but hidden, otherwise unobtainable items in online games is really lame. This isn’t the first time it’s been done, sure, but it still sucks.

    • Agreed. I just can’t get into the FF series like I used to, and though I’d love a beta entry, the idea that unless I buy this I’ll lose out on yet another nifty gifty looking item is a bit disheartening. It reminds me of cash shop. It’s not necessary to buy the junk, but damned if it don’t look all purty and sparkly when you see everyone else with the cash to spare flashing it around. *sigh*

Sweet I got the code!!!!!! My ps3 just came in the mail!!!!!!

Did you get the Lightning edition PS3? Just curious because I got one here in Japan that I’m using now but I noticed on the unit itself it says that it only accepts 100v input. When I return home to America in August I wanted if my unit would be fine to use because the American voltage is 120v.

Yea I got the lightning ps3 and so far everything is working well. No problems here. The only problem is sometimes final fantasy 13’s camers is annoying. But besides that everything is working great.

I’ll make sure to hang onto it, I haven’t even opened my case since I got the game 5 days ago.

UPDATE: All registered, hope I get chosen to play.
