Same Scene, Different Nier

Square Enix updated the Nier portal with separate sites for Nier Gestalt and Nier Replicant. We already reported what’s different in the two games. You know, things like the look of the hero and sister vs. daughter storyline. Let’s do the opposite now and examine how much content on both pages is the same.

Kaine and Grimoire Weiss have the same description and screenshots. Nier, the protagonist, has one shared screenshot that appears in Nier Gestalt and Nier Replicant. It appears this scene is similar, if not the same, with the exception of Nier’s character model.

Perhaps, Nier Gestalt and Nier Replicant aren’t as different as they initially seemed.

    Doesn’t matter. They’ll both suck….

actually gestalt is way more fun than replicant. you can tell by the shading.

        Who woulda thunked.

I always thought that DMC4 was a FAR better game than DMC3 because in 4, the leaves on one of the trees has 3 more layers and hues of additional texture.

I think you just combated a joke with sarcasm.

          • JohnCasey1

No. I leveled up his sarcasm with my own sarcasm.

            your power is great

The more I see of this, the more it just looks like SE just made one game and edited things to appeal to the west.

Not interested, and I hope it bombs.

    • Ritsujun

dude SE is not the developer or u can’t differentiate between publisher and developer

      • Slashlen

I can, I just thought SE was developing it.

*looks up Cavia*…Aw ****, it’s the Bullet Witch people!

  • nyobzoo

who didn’t think they were the same game? seriously, you could see it coming by looking at the trailers.

  • That picture is taken from a very “interesting” angle. I guess nowadays if your making a character Action game you got to provide adequate amounts of sex appeal.

Wow, so much negativity. Oh Siliconera, aren’t we better than that?

Whatever happened to simply just not buying the games you aren’t interested in?

    • Hraesvelgr

That’s what I do (most of the time!). I think I’ve had no interest in this game since hearing it was developed by Cavia…

      • Ereek

Being Cavia-developed is my issue as well. I’d really like for there to be a demo before I make a final decision on whether to buy or not. I certainly have no problem with hack-and-slash sometimes, but it’s not my preferred genre.

The character from Nier Replicant reminds me too much of Raiden…
