The Eye of Judgment Legends Is PSN Only In North America

image Sony Computer Entertainment America has plans for a domestic release of The Eye of Judgment Legends (aka The Eye of Judgment: Portable in Japan), but unlike other territories it will only be a downloadable game here.

The Eye of Judgment Legends is a scaled down version of the PlayStation 3 game minus tangible cards and PlayStation Eye support. Everything is digital, including booster packs Sony plans to sell on the PlayStation Store. The PSP version has infrastructure play, all of the cards from the PlayStation 3 game plus thirty brand new ones, and a story mode.

Similar to other niche first party games including Siren: Blood Curse and Echochrome, Sony plans to sell The Eye of Judgment Legends in stores in Europe and Japan. Here, it’s PlayStation Network or nothing.

One of VERY few times it’s nice to live in Europe.

Bah! Even if it was on UMD here I’d skip it due to the fact they want to nickel and dime you for DLC booster packs.

Well, in all honesty, it’s not like many people would actually buy it on UMD. The PSP is pretty much a lost cause in the US.

At least with digital releases, companies don’t actually lose money with the manufacturing and shipping and such.

Well I guess they don’t lose money on manufacturing/shipping etc… but they sure don’t gain any money from people like me.

If I buy the European version so I could have a box, would it probably work with these DLC booster pack from the US PSN store? Most DLC isnt region specific right?

Ohhh… that’s a good question. You might need PAL region credit. Some DLC is region locked, but other DLC isn’t.

Not really helpful (sorry!), but if we get a chance to do an interview for EOJ:P I’ll bring this topic up.
