Watch Tokyo Mono Hara Shi’s Opening

By Spencer . December 21, 2009 . 2:01am

This isn’t Persona 5, but Tokyo Mono Hara Shi is another Atlus RPG featuring high school kids and mysterious cards.

Unlike the Persona games, Tokyo Mono Hara Shi is a first person dungeon crawler with real time combat. You won’t see any of that here, though. This is the game’s opening animation. The style may look familiar if you’ve seen Tokyo Majin before since Tokyo Mono Hara Shi is part of that series.

Atlus has Tokyo Mono Hara Shi: The Mysterious Story of Karasu no Mori Academy slated for spring 2010 in Japan.

    Looks purddy.

If this ever gets localized you can definitely sign me up for the first person dungeon crawling. I've only been exposed to only a few of those types of games, but I haven't come across one that I haven't enjoyed even just a little bit.

what i can see in this OP are:

    - High School kids
    - Shrine Maidens
    - A lot of different cards, it seems every char has its own card

I could relate shrine maidens with demons and the high school as the main location… but these cards… i dunno, maybe it's just me, but aren't cards a little bit too old-fashioned?
But i like the characters, they kinda remain their Tokyo Majin Style.

    PSP >_>

I can only assume that this game will start out strong, only to crash and burn in a horrible fashion just like the anime.

You could probably pass this off as P5 if you changed the title image and showed it to somebody who didn't know what this was (like me).
