Guess Which Xbox 360 Game Topped Japan’s DLC Ranking Chart

By Spencer . December 23, 2009 . 11:46pm

imageMicrosoft also added a chart for this year’s top ranked downloadable content in Japan on Xbox Live.

[email protected]: Live For You took the top slot. Namco Bandai released this game last year, but continued to add DLC well into 2009. Xbox 360 owners in Japan must love splurging on idol-style games because Dream C Club is number two and [email protected] is in third place.

Again, it’s unclear how the 2009 ranking added up. Best items? Most downloads? Most profit? Who knows. Anyway, here’s the list.

1.) [email protected]: Live For You!
2.) Dream C Club
3.) [email protected]
4.) Fallout 3
5.) Otomedius G
6.) Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation
7.) Street Fighter IV
8.) Tales of Vesperia
9.) Record of Agarest War
10.) Rumble Roses XX

I only grabbed the free DLCs for Dream Club so far, most of the costumes are alrdy in the game, but they’re only worn by the hostesses during certain days in the game, like yukata in the summer, witch in Halloween, Santa in Christmas, etc, not sure if the devil one is DLC exclusive.. the two extra girls Mari and Airi (eyepatch and android, sold for 800 MS pt each) are actually unlockables, but require a lot of grinding like getting 30 and 35 achievements respectively (bascially completing the profiles and getting the good endings of the other 8 girls).. I want some of the new songs but they’re too expensive, DLC be damned.BTW, I couldn’t get into Idolmaster at all, but I like DC much better.

Bamco must be laughing maniacally at how much of that chart they own right now…

    • Laughing all the way to the bank. I wonder whether all the DLC for [email protected] has gotten to be double or triple the price of the game(s) yet?

[email protected] L4U DLC is so god damn expensive. New costumes can be up to 1000pts which is a little over $16, and new songs are 1200pts which is almost $20. For one song! Those bastards must be raking in the cash.

But I guess when you’re at the top of the chart there’s little incentive to lower any prices :(

  • The last songs released for Live For You! were pretty good. I’m glad they remixed one of my favorites, “Colorful Days”, twice!
It’s not surprising seeing both [email protected] games there. I can’t remember what other Xbox 360 game really pushed the system in Japan as far as it did during the early half of the system’s arrival.
Maybe that will change soon as more games are coming out from other companies in Japan (multiplatforms included) and overseas companies getting a little more presence, but we’ll see soon enough.

I want idol master and dream club on ps3. I hate that 360 isn’t backwards compatible
