Atlus + Gungnir = New Norse Game?

Atlus may be dabbling with Norse mythology again. In Japan, they filed a trademark for Gungnir, the name of Odin’s spear, for use with video games.

Back in 2007, Atlus made a PlayStation 2 game with Norse mythology ties called Odin Sphere. Perhaps, this Gungnir trademark is related? Odin Sphere: Gungnir has a nice ring to it.

Since Atlus now owns Sting this could be for a new Dept of Heaven game.

Atlus doesn't own Sting (yet). Anyway, I doubt this is the case. Sting games usually have weirder titles.

PSP port of Odin Sphere perhaps? That seems the most likely to me...

If there was one game I couldn't wait for at this point, it would be an Odin Sphere sequel. I thought I'd be a gamer forever, but I'm starting to get disillusioned.

Regardless of whether it's Odin Sphere-related, Atlus and Norse mythology? I don't think I could EVER pass that up.

cool i hope this is a remake for PSP or a sequel, but i have a feelin its unrelated to Vanillaware's Odin sphere....

Also, legal experts help us out here. Can you go from Gungnir to Odin Sphere: Gungnir even though you only trademarked ONE of the three words? Or should this trademark ONLY cover a game titled "Gungnir"?

Since, Atlus owns the Odin Sphere IP and trademarked Odin Sphere they should be able to go from Odin Sphere -> Odin Sphere: Gungnir. It's just like how Square Enix can register subtitles like Hand of the Heavenly Bride for Dragon Quest.
