MadCatz Makes Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Arcade Stick

By Spencer . January 5, 2010 . 9:06am

Looking for an arcade stick to play Tatsunoko vs. Capcom with? Madcatz has one that plugs into a Wii remote. The eight button arcade style stick has multi-speed turbo and a “Japanese style joystick.” It works with Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, other Wii fighting games, and virtual console titles. Finally, something to use with all of those SNK Virtual Console games.

Not sure if this is the “big announcement” Capcom Producer Ryota Niitsuma was talking about since this was shown last year. The stick will ship with Tatsunoko vs. Capcom in January and retail for $79.99.

For 79$, I guess this must be a relatively cheap model, like the EX2. Ok for shmups, but I wouldn’t play a fighting game with it. Maybe it could be modded, though.

Also, Wiimote plug means no PC. That’s a big problem for someone who’s looking for a stick that can also be used with MAME or something.

This probably wasn’t the big announcement, because it was announced a week or two ago! I thought I read that the stick would be $60 somewhere too…

Not exactly. Wiimotes are bluetooth. Have you heard of GlovePIE?

I see. But… isn’t that going to be laggier than a normal wired?

I’ve used GlovePIE. I haven’t experienced any lag.
