Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment Blazing Online Later This Month

Konami’s Vandal Hearts prequel is almost done. In fact, Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment is on track for a January release.

January 20 for Xbox 360 owners, to be more specific. The release date was revealed today on Xbox Japan’s product page. Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment is a multiplatform PS3 / Xbox 360 game so the PlayStation 3 version will be ready on Thursday, January 21, perhaps?

Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment, like the original game, is a strategy RPG. Don’t see many of those on consoles these days. Fans of the genre should get a fair amount of replay value since Flames of Judgment has multiple endings. Not bad for 1,200 Microsoft Points ($15).

Yeah, it's not late much, after supposed to have been done by the end of last year… and before then, by the end of summer…

No big announcement or anything of the sort? Bah. Looks like this isn't even a low-budget title, but an extremely low-budget one instead. I mean, look at these faces. Ugh.

Calvin? And he looks like a chipmunk?

    Okay…

  • Ereek

Vandal Hearts has always had a rather strange art style. It's purposeful and doesn't have anything to do with the budget.

  • Trotmeister

They weren't so strange as they were distinctive. First one was sorta cartoonish and the second one was kinda gothic. And this one… this one is just bad.

I have to agree with everyone and say… I'm not a fan of this art direction…

  • TyeTheCzar

It's not just bad… it's Code Lyoko bad.

looks/sounds weak. I'd rather just have the first two re-packed on PSP. Sales will definitely reflect what a horrible choice this was for PS3/360 release.

The art style is hideous, but I can look past it if it plays well and has an intriguing story.

Where have you read that previous VH games' art styles were purposely strange or different?
