Aksys Triggering US Release Of BlazBlue Portable

Aksys Triggering US Release Of BlazBlue PortableArc System Works is developing a PSP version of BlazBlue called BlazBlue Portable and it appears Aksys picked it up for distribution in North America under a different name.

Good old Gamefly has BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger in their PSP section. Considering how Gamefly leaked Aksys’ entire lineup in 2007 this is a fairly reliable source. Anyway, it’s unlikely that Aksys would pass on publishing BlazBlue Portable – it’s more of a matter of when than if. The “when” may be this March.

BlazBlue Portable has all twelve playable characters, an ad-hoc mode for versus play, and an all new legion mode where fights are spread on a tactical map.

Why, why when Continuum Shift is right around the corner… Why?! Does not compute…

Man, I suck at fighting games, but I do want to try this out..

Because there are some that have not opted for it on the console or want it portable so they can smash heads in via ad hoc. That's why.

    I know people that have only a PSP and neither a 360 or a PS3? Wow…what a concept!

The point is that they are playing a previous version that is going to eventually be replaced in arcades (already happening) with the newer version and soon on consoles. Unless they plan to run both side by side which isn't gonna happen, this is nothing but a waste of time for those who actually play the game. Continuum Shift has a different system than that of CT so this is entirely pointless.

I'm playing Continuum Shift at the arcades and Calamity Trigger at home at the moment actually. Playing them side by side isn't as bad as you make it sound, just gotta remember the few differences between the 2 versions.

I think you're missing my point as well. The whole idea of them coming out with this portable is to make it more readily available to more clientèle than they currently have on the PS3 and 360. Your point of 'people who have already played it' is actually pretty moot.

Why in the world WOULDN'T they port a game like this to more people and get more money for it if people haven't been in the means of affording a console. If you're not a parent, or in parent age, or know what people are going through for money and the economy right now…a game like this being ported to a lower-cost console AT a lower cost is actually A REALLY GOOD IDEA.

I understand where you're coming from in your vein but you're overlooking a really big point money-wise. There's a DARN good reason this is getting released for another console with more fix ins. I don't understand why you wouldn't see that.

And, for an added bonus, as tsukasa1288 says, yes…there are people that will actually buy this for the added content and the ability to play it portable if they already own it. If I had a PSP, I DEFINITELY would pick this up and I'd be on a few other people's case to pick it up that I know own a PSP. The game is THAT GOOD that I would actually take the time to endorse it. I would not do the same if the game was a piece of crap.
