Sonic Is The Star Of Project Needlemouse

Looks to me like Project Needlemouse is none other then an HD remake of the first Sonic The Hedgehog. No companions, a dive back to Sonic's roots, remodeled robot crabs? Definitely!!

I was hoping for something else but I bet Sonic Team will actually do a good job here.

That's not a good thing, in my opinion.

I like having alot of Sonic Characters in a Sonic game, though I may be alone on that.

Looks most similar to a Badnik in Metropolis Zone.

I'm just happy that they're not making every enemy those generic humanoid Darth Vader things that popped up in the animated series and have been in the most recent games.

I guess “Sonic's New Friend Mr. Needlemouse” was just a red herring, then.

I agree, it was fun having multiple gameplay styles in SA2, but when later games tried to combine them and lost the quality level design, it definitely started to wear thin.

Sonic Adventure 2

This is what I figured it would be ever since I saw “Sonic's new friend Mr Needlemouse in the list. I'm incredibly psyched for this though! I'm loving the concept art.

You might be alone on that. I actually like all the characters in Adventure 2, but any more after that was just bad.

Me too, but I'll admit that the hunting stages were boring. Aside from that, I think that three different characters was fine (I say three because the Dark counterparts played exactly the same as the heroes). After all, nobody complains about S&K, and that had three characters as well.

After SA2 though, they started going downhill. So I don't want to take anymore chances… if having Sonic alone will help making a better game, I'm all for it.

Ah, was really hoping Froggy was ready to make his big break.

This will be the latest Sonic game I played since …ah, Sonic Adventure. Did I miss much since then?

Yeah, you're right! The word at the bottom is Kanipanchi (Kani Punch), from Sonic 2. I was thinking Crab Meat at first.

The development behind all of the original Sonic game is still the most fascinating to me. To think what could have been or other aspects that did and didn't make it into the games.

I can't believe, for once, Sega is on top of their game.

Now if only they'd do a physical Wii SKU… they'd have my money.
