Final Fantasy XIII Special Edition Includes Episode Zero? Europe is getting a Final Fantasy XIII collector’s edition and Gamestop’s Italian site may have leaked the extra items early.

 

According to their product page, the collector’s edition includes an artbook, soundtrack, comic book, art cards, a prequel novel, and either the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII for €79.98 ($113).

 

I wouldn’t count on getting the lavish four disc soundtrack, but a translated version of Final Fantasy XIII Episode Zero: Promise is fair game. The “art cards” may even come from the hardcover postcard book out now in Japan.

 

News about the collector’s edition first slipped out of Square Enix Europe’s newsletter. Square Enix USA has not announced or confirmed a Final Fantasy XIII collector’s edition at this time.

    even if it does come with T_T tempered theme song XD !
    and im still doing missions in grand pulse XD , and will do it all again with europe version XD ! …… needs time T_T

    Even though I didn't like the game too much, I do want some swag.. I want the comic and translated novel in particular. The novel could actually be read on the Jpn FFXIII site right now if one is able to read Jpn, but having it translated in book form is great. The novel has three chapters, Encounter, Friends, and Treasure. The 5-disc LE soundtrack will have the first chapter “encounter” done as a CD drama by the seiyuu, a big reason I'm keeping my OST pre-order.

    i wanted to preorder it too but im kinda mad at yesasia T_T my Sound Horizon Blurays havent arrived yet , and they were shipped dec 9th T_T soooooo until they arrive no more shopping !
    you have 33h , where are you in the game exacly ? its too bad yu dont like it :( , i have 57 h i think XD but been doing all the missions before continuing with the story . and ive been watching the eng trailer so by now ive gotten used to eng voices XD … Hope is still my fav though XD !

    I really hope this, or something similar is announced for NA. Even if all it is, is a steelbook like FFXII.

    I don't understand why Squenix NA is being so coy about this. If people are holding out on preorder to see if there's a collector's edition (like myself), they're probably the type that would preorder a plain version anyway if no CE actually gets made. If a CE is going to happen, then why keep people in the dark?

    Yea, Yesasia's shipping isn't the fastest, but it's almost been a month. You're in Europe right, think it got held up by the pesky customs? Heard you're sometimes charged VAT..

    Yep, just 33hrs, you know the tower you mentioned the other day, I just got onto the elevator that rolls like a ball. I haven't played much in the last 2 weeks. Just disappointed in the chars and story is all, I thought Fang and gang would be much more interesting, but so far they're a bore :(.. The Nautilus theme park was interesting, and this game doesn't have enough of it..

    I've watched the Eng. trailer a few times too, I like the scene when Lightning tugged at Snow's coat, cute :) Or the scene when Lightning asked Sazh to cover his ears when she got the door open at the beginning, but that's pretty much it when it comes to memorable scenes.

    Have only succesfully finished one mission. Unless I hit a road block by facing some tough bosses, I don't want to grind too much. How many missions have you done, they're pretty hard right?

    If gamestop still hasn't said anything, I really doubt there would be a LE for NA. BTW, gamestop said they were going to have some bonus posters for Bayonetta or something and then it seems to have been dropped on the site later, so there was no bonus after all? Well, I got Bayo from Amazon for like $34.99 (discover card promo and some credit), so I ain't complaining.

    But yeah, steelbook case like XII would be very nice, w/ the cool logo, as of now the Lightning cover looks kind of plain.. well, the game turns out to be not so epic anyway *sigh*… so I really could care less about paying extra for LE. But I'm keeping my order of the soundtrack for the short CD drama..

    It kinda surprises me. I thought for sure there would have been one for NA. What with almost every big name game in the last year having at least some sort of special edition. Sometimes multiple LEs.

    Gamestop does however list a FFXIII Limited Edition Strategy Guide. Theres no details on what it contains though. Hardcover or Artbook perhaps? Maybe a possible sign for a Limited Game Edition as well. Or perhaps it's just wishful thinking on my part.

    A bit disappointing really. I'm a sucker for LE, and I love my shiny steelbooks. Vesperia's was especially nice. I'd also like another to match with my FFXII as well.
