Aksys Responds To BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Leak

By Spencer . January 26, 2010 . 11:14am

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, an update of BlazBlue for arcades only, found its way onto the Internet and is magically compatible with PCs. We have a “response” to the leak, with Aksys’ soon-to-be trademark craziness.

So the message is… don’t download BlazBlue: Continuum Shift because Aksys staff members will suffocate you with a Record of Agarest War pillow?

Special thanks and a pile of Deathsmiles to Matty for sending us the tip, which was first featured on his blog.

I am 100% in support of more creative ways to say “no comment” such as this.

On the one hand I am absolutely sick of seeing the ad that this is lambasting so it makes me crack up, but on the other, depending on my mood, well not sure it is correct.

    Not funny. :/

I can understand more if it was a console version that was leaked but Arcade version?

The arcade hardware is PC-like, but it hasn’t been announced for release on PC or any console.

What’s worse for me is that I don’t care enough to download it….=(

    Awesome video response. :D

The arcade version is compatible with any PC? Really? That’s weird. I thought Taito X2 was running on an embedded version of WinXP. Unless you have those specific components, it won’t work.

Naw, I think it’s just a joke, but I had to do a double take and think “huh? is this the PSP version or what?”. Also, I know for certain you can’t play Azumanga Puzzle Bubble Arcade and that game had been for five years!
These are a funny group of kids. Wish I had a chance to meet them at AX (you too, Silicon crew!).

I thought that Embedded XP pretty much is just XP built to run with far less functionality. IE it’s an OS entirely dedicated to running the games and whatnot. (Hence hardware shouldn’t matter) Assuming that’s the case then i’m surprised it took this long for a X2 port to come along.

This was awesome, but I’d love to hear a console release date.
Or any news whatsoever on a console release…
    And Kokonoe. :)

I have mixed feelings on this. Yes, on one hand it’s people downloading CS for free, which isn’t cool for the hard work Arc Systems and Aksys have put in. On the other hand though, I imagine a lot of the downloaders are people who’d like to play it but don’t have access to a BB:CS arcade machine near em.

Point being, this reaction would seem more appropriate were CS available in stores for 360 and PS3. (IE if there were a way for people to buy it or pay money for the service)

That said, I’m with Ishaan in supporting a video such as this. Stuff like this helps reaffirm why I love aksys as much as I do. =P

I’m seeing the leak as sorta doing more good than harm. Most people won’t even get it to run perfectly. And even if someone codes netplay into game, it won’t be as good as the console versions. This serves as a nice little demo of what’s to come for the console version, especially for those who haven’t had the chance to play it yet. I know a few people who are holding out on CT and plan to get CS instead.I’ll admit I’ve tried the leak, but it’s to strictly to test out the new content. It actually encouraged me to play more of CT, and I fully intend to buy CS whenever it comes out on consoles.Sucks for the few arcades that have this machine though.

Well the only thing is even if people get continuum shift running on their own pcs, their not going to be able to get all the competition they can get at the arcade… I mean they might be able to use it for practice, but for playing actual people improves your gameplay a whole lot more

This is the greatest company of all time.

Sorry, Atlus, but I’ve moved on.

‘A sequel featuring new content and characters, titled BlazBlue: Continuum Shift (ブレイブルー コンティニュアム シフト, Bureiburū: Kontinyuamu Shifuto?) has also been announced, with planned arcade, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 releases.” From wikipedia

So sequel will be coming. It make more sense now.

Too bad I missed seeing this video, Aksys made it private on their youtube account. Though I never bothered with even downloading it for the PC because I’ve been playing it at the arcade regularly since its release, plus I don’t think my laptop could even handle it.
