imageMore Dragon Quest is coming to the Nintendo DS. Square Enix is working on Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2.

A scan from Jump has the news and a few details. Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 will have more volume, especially in the monsters department. Expect 300+ creatures to scout. Just like Dragon Quest Monsters Joker, monsters fight for you and can combine with other monsters to make custom creations.

The biggest feature in Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 so far is real time battles. Players will be able to fight other monster teams directly over Wi-Fi. This system is different from the data download from the last game.

Yes! Glad the Wifi allows us to actually play multiplayer this time around. Joker is the worst DQM game, but atleast it’s still a really good game.

  • CHEERS! *0* I didn’t really like the first because the main character looked like a punk >_>
This guy looks cool, kind of like the main character of Blue Dragon actually.

In before, “All of Toriyama’s character designs look the same.” God forbid the guy have a style!

  • I would MUUUUUUCH prefer a sequel to Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime.

    • SpiderCVIII

I agree, although I will get this sequel once this comes out stateside.

Liked Joker, so I’ll be keeping my eye out for this one. :D

That’s quite a title! Dragon Quest series -> DQM series -> DQMJ series. christ!

Didn’t hate Joker but the story and characters never really clicked with me. Hope this is different. Real time battles? Might be interesting.

  • I love the first two DQMs, but Joker didn’t do it for me. The lack of wifi battles makes it feel like a Pokemon without the multiplayer aspect (and who really wants that?). Also, the battle speed is lethargic, which is odd because Dragon Quest usually aces that aspect… Hopefully they speed things up a bit in the sequel.
