Dragon Quest VI Sales Are A Dream Come True

imageAccording to Enterbrain, Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie sold 909,981 units in its first week and that makes it the top selling Dragon Quest remake on the Nintendo DS.

Media Create data notes Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen sold 597,000 copies its first week and fan-favorite Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride moved 644,000 copies. While these numbers are from a different source, Dragon Quest VI is clearly outpacing the other games in the Zenithia trilogy.

Perhaps, this is because this Dragon Quest VI remake is the only Dragon Quest VI remake. Dragon Quest V was re-released on the PlayStation 2 and Dragon Quest IV is also available on the PsOne.

Cool Im gonna get it for sure

  • Ereek

    Very impressive.

And what’s sad is that it (probably) outsold Ar tonelico 3 and Resonance of Fate put together.

    • Soma

Sad that Ar Tonelico 3 and Resonance of Fate aren’t seeing the sales they deserve, but it’s cool that DQVI is selling well. Portable gaming seems to be way more popular that home consoles these days.

  • DQ has always been great, and they get what they deserve

  • thaKingRocka

Wow, I could be wrong, but I seem to remember this game being the lowest-rated DQ game in Famitsu’s reader poll of the 100 most beloved games of all time.

Somehow this doesn’t really surprise me, this is one hyped game – commercials, cafés and what nots – and it’s a DQ, fave of Japan.
