Quantum Theory and Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll have been pushed back so Tecmo Koei can improve the quality of both titles.

That’s the reason Tecmo Koei gave for delaying both titles in a press release. This news comes a few weeks after Tecmo said Quantum Theory was on track to ship in North America this March. Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll (pictured) previously had a floating March 2010 window for Japan. Neither game has a new release date.

Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll is being developed by Omega Force, the studio behind the Dynasty Warriors series. Koei announced Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll will be the first game in the Zill O’ll series to be localized. Team Tachyon, the group behind Rygar and Undead Knights, is developing Quantum Theory.

Quantum Theory needs it too, the early impressions were not good and now they have two seperate versions to debug. As for Trinity Zill O’ll I have not seen much on it lately, so the added time in developemtn cant hurt. Especially with the game being exclusive it needs to turn out good.

IMO the problem with these two games is that they got green lighted in the first place…Both games look very generic, there are no selling points behind their concepts to attract enough buzz/interest,and in Zill O’ll’s case the “watercolor” effect i think has more negative results than positive (for now.)

If you ever played Zill O’ll for PS1 and PS2/PSP you’d understand it’s actually one of Koei’s few titles that really should have been brought over here. This is more action RPG than turn base as those were, but there’s some very good ideas (chain assist combos) and the artstyle is very nice in comparison to the blah rehash anime crap we get so much from JRPG’s

I’m all for delaying games releases for quality control purposes.
However, I can’t stand it when games are delayed to boost quarterly sales. I guess it helps the publishers and developers at the end of every quarter. And if the industry is doing well then there will always be more games.

Looks like they’ll need a lot of time, then.

Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll looks so bad ass. I can’t wait to play it.
