Monster Rancher DS Producer Hopes To Bring The Series Back To Consoles

After Monster Rancher Neo, Tecmo moved the Monster Rancher series from consoles to handhelds. My favorite part about the Monster Rancher games was digging through CDs and DVDs in search of a deadly Suezo, which was lost in the transition.

So, I asked Koichi Yamaguchi, Producer of Monster Rancher DS at Tecmo, if we’ll ever see a Monster Rancher game on consoles. “I believe and hope we will have a chance to bring the series to a console in the future… I will be very sad if it doesn’t happen,” Yamaguchi replied.

“However, it might be slightly different methodology on the console than what everyone would imagine it would be.”

Yamaguchi gave us a hint about it and described the different ways players can create monsters in Monster Rancher DS during our interview. Check back for it soon.

  • That would be amazing

    • Indeed it would be awesome to have Monster Rancher HD. :D

I remember playing the original back in the day and throwing in a bunch of random CDs to see what kind of monsters I’d get out of it. Good times.

Can’t say I care about the games these days, though.

It was fun finding monsters from CDs. The rest of the game, not so much.

I used to have Monster Rancher tourneys with my friends from school (with the original game.) Everyone would train a monster they picked from their own CD collection up to a certain date and we’d get together and do a tourney for some silly little prize. It was a lot of fun. It’d be great to see it come back to consoles.
