Spend A Lonely Valentine’s Day With Love Plus

By Spencer . February 9, 2010 . 2:19pm

image Konami, preying on lonely feelings sparked by Valentine’s Day, made a new Love Plus bundle. For a limited time you can get a special Love Plus package containing the game, pocky, and an augmented reality card with a Valentine’s Day greeting.

This past holiday season, Konami sold augmented reality cards (you know the nifty technology that makes things appear when you show them to a webcam; think Eye of Judgment) with Christmas treats in Japan. Those sold like hot cakes.

These will probably rake in more money than the localized version of Tomena Sanner which just came out on WiiWare yesterday. Especially, because there are three greetings, one from each girl. Each bundle costs 5,220 yen ($58) and you just know someone out there is going to buy all of them to collect the AR cards. When the game originally launched one Love Plus fan bought eleven copies to round up all of the pre-order bonuses.

Well, I -guess- it’s better than spending Valentines Day completely alone…

    I guess…

i dont kow if to admire the fan power or be scared of it

I’d buy them, if they had the same offer in America…

It sells itself. It really does.
Looking through Yahoo Japan Auctions, those little cards from conventions and the Christmas ones were selling from 5,000 yen and up.

We really should, like, make our own date-sim!

    • Xien12

Pure American-made date-sims don’t work out that well.

I already got the game. Haven’t played it cause I can’t read anything in Japanese yet, but I’m trying. But I can understand these selling like crazy. Otaku are just like that in Japan.

I got the game last year but haven’t touched it yet because of other games, I don’t want to start it then let the girl starve like a tamagotchi..

I think playing this game on Valentine’s Day would be the saddest thing for a guy, but who doesn’t like Pocky.

i’m calling it…a US release of love plus for me to have my chance at defeating levi tolar with nene-chan’s help. by that i mean her juicy hour-long kisses

  • dooley422

i’m also calling the valentine’s day card offer to be released here. it’d be interesting to see what nene-chan says

Given the media blitz surrounding Love Plus, I’m still surprised at the game’s sales…

Buuuuut yea, like Aoshi said: terrible thing for anyone to have to spend their 14th with this game. More terrible than spending it alone, really.

I can just see this poor sap chomping on Pocky, w/ tears streaming down his cheek, and telling Nene “You made my life complete”, sad sad V-day indeed… You need to dig out some more crazy pics Ishaan, like guys getting 2 dozen roses for Nene :)
