Final Fantasy XIII Avatar Items Revealed

The Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 bundle includes exclusive avatar items. Three of them, to be exact.

Purchase the bundle and you can style your avatar with a Rosch outfit (left), Nabbat outfit (right), and the chocobo pet Microsoft gave out for free with their Twitter promotion. Square Enix says these items will only be available to people who purchase the hardware bundle. Since players didn’t get a Lightning or Snow outfit, I’m guessing other avatar outfits are in the works.

In PAL regions, the special Lightning faceplate will be given to anyone who pre-orders the Final Fantasy XIII special edition Xbox 360 while supplies last.

Joystiq’s quoting Major Nelson as saying the faceplate is a preorder bonus for the Special Edition bundle in North America as well. (Not just PAL regions.)

I’m a sucker for these avatar stuff, haven’t actually bought any, but I like the ones you unlock from games. I must say this deal is more and more tempting. I don’t care about those mumbo jumbo about the 360 ver. being inferior, I’m pretty sure it’s mostly cut scenes being at 720 instead of 1080p and on 3 discs (kind of curious where they would cut off btwn each disc, the overall plot is so lame…). Also I’m keeping my other 2 PS3 copies anyway. But Major didn’t say a faceplate would be “included” in the bundle though, I saw his video, I wonder how to go about getting it, and if you’re guaranteed one if you pre-order.

Man, if they end up selling that chocobo on the marketplace at some point in the future, those people who paid $10+ for the codes are going to be feeling pretty dumb.
