Maybe, Ketsui Will Land On Xbox 360 In April

By Spencer . February 15, 2010 . 8:19am

Maybe, Ketsui Will Land On Xbox 360 In April5pb’s much delayed console version of Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi might be close to completion. Retailers in Japan report it goes on sale on April 22.

Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi Extra was first seen in an issue of Famitsu two years ago when it was announced as an Xbox 360 title. What took so long? 5pb had serious problems with another Cave conversion, DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou Black Label Extra. The game was buggy and used code from Arika’s PlayStation 2 port without permission.

At one time, Ketsui’s release was in question, but it appears 5pb hasn’t given up on the Xbox 360 version and it might even come out soon. According to Rakuten, Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi Extra has leaderboards and shares replay data of the top ranked players.

Also Espgaluda 2 was confirmed region free today by Makoto Asada producer of Cave.

The Limited Edition of EspGaluda II will be region-locked to Japan because we didn't have enough time to get the application in before pressing,” says Cave producer Makoto Asada. “However, we were able to make the standard edition region-free in to show our appreciation for the support we have from overseas fans.”

Ketsui should be released sooner then April 22nd it was confirmed on Mihara's blog.

The true Ketsui date will be announced Feb 18th in Famitsu.

I'm a bit wary of that Asada quote. I only saw it on Kotaku, but nowhere else. Even Cave's blog doesn't say anything yet.

And even if it were true, I'll wait until someone can confirm it's completely region-free, eg. not just for the USA. Just like I did for Mushi2. I've spent a lot of money lately, so I can't preorder it anyway.

Now, when is Under Defeat passing MS certification?

Wait, the regular edition of Espgaluda 2 would be region-free while the limited edition locked? What nonsense is that, are you sure that's really the case. I just placed an order for the limited edition like 5 mins ago! :( I mean I have systems of both regions, but I would rather play it on my US HDMI rather than the older Jpn component. That's pretty stupid, for people paying like twice as much and getting a region locked game.

NCSX cfm Ketsui's release day before and I ordered the LE for the soundtrack as well.

Under Defeat has been in limbo for quite sometime.

Hopefully it can be released on gameroom or XBLA this year.

I just chk'ed NCSX's update, says the same thing. Wow, this is stupid.. I want the faceplate and don't mind the premium, but paying more and getting a locked ver. which I can play wherever instead of just my Jpn system, no thanks. I'm sending them an e-mail to cancel the LE then… man, I was looking forward to getting my hands on the LE for months, why??! And making it region free or locked, do they need to take “months” until near release date to make such decision, come on!

  • Aoshi00

NCSX just sent me an e-mail saying they got more LE (I was elated and ordered it in a split sec), and they also quoted Kotaku as well when I take the time to read their update… so I guess it's pretty reliable? This is very unfortunate… they almost had my money! lol..

Now I just done cancelling it… well, at least I wouldn't feel so guilty.

Limited Edition of EspGaluda II will be region-locked to Japan

    FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I'm still half doubting the news from Kotaku, like malek86 said I can't find anything official from Cave yet, where's the source link to this Jpn announcement. On the other hand, NCSX quoted Kotaku, they're professional online sellers and should be pretty careful before saying anything right?

The truth is I want that faceplate, I collect them. But I'm not crazy about the idea of paying more for less, even though technically region free or locked makes no difference to me, but if one is locked and the other isn't, I'm getting the one that's not locked. But waiting till the last minute to decide making the regular edition region free? I dunno…

We're checking with Cave directly, which is why we haven't posted anything about this. Hopefully, we'll get a response soon :)

While you are at that. Would you mind asking if the Rerelease of Death Smiles due out April 8th with Mega Black Label on disc is going to be region free as well?

It would be nice but I can wait for the USA version to play the Black Label if not.

Not willing to spend that on DLC right now when I know I can get it on Disc later.

  • Aoshi00

That'd be great if you can get some official cfm. I guess I was just hoping the LE would be region free as well, but that kinda seems unlikely now..

  • http://honorless.net honorless

That won't be region free because it would make absolutely no business sense whatsoever.

Cave wouldn't go through the trouble of getting multiple-region approval for a budget price re-release—cannibalizing their overseas sales and souring Aksys on any future business deals in the process. Just sit tight and wait for the NTSC-U/C (…and hopefully, PAL) version.

so this wont be region free?

    will it even be ported?

i would feel stupid buying a japanese xbox 360 for an extra 80 dollers.

then they release it in the US.

i wish cave releases happened both places at once.
