Corpse Party Crawling On To PSP

image Thanks to 5pb, the PlayStation Portable is getting a doujin horror game called Corpse Party: Blood Covered… Repeated Fear.

Sticking to the original made with RPG Maker source material, Corpse Party: Blood Covered… Repeated Fear uses sprites to tell the story of high schoolers trapped in a haunted elementary school. The game has multiple endings some with grisly fates for the main characters. Instead of blood splashing all over the place, Corpse Party details deaths in text boxes.

Team GrisGris remade Corpse Party for PCs last year. 5pb’s PSP port is an update of that.

Ah, at first I thought it was going to be a basic adventure game, but it’s starting to sound a bit like 5 Days a Stranger.
I’m really looking forward to this, although, I’m actually going to do more studying than playing.

I was expecting an Oingo Bongo music game. (Okay, close…)

Anyway, that’s quite a contrast between the cute little sprites and the description…a little disturbing, actually.

I seems that in Japan, the high school years are basically the worst part of one’s life, since anything could happen to 16-years old kids, from being killed by ghosts to piloting giant mechas to saving the world. Once you become an adult, there’s nothing more to be worried about, as apparently all the evil stuff in the universe doesn’t bother with anyone older than 18.

Or to look at it another away, your highschool years are perceived as the most exciting. :)

…of course, the reality is that you slave your way through highschool, so that you can slave your way through a good college, so you can eventually slave your way through a good job. Once you’re old and perverted, you get to have sex with your hot secretary as your marriage falls apart.

(See, this is what happens when you read too much manga…)

Well this takes moe to new levels…

No wonder anime’s dying out these days.

Maybe I’m weird, but this game sounds interesting xD
