Because We All Need More BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Media

By Spencer . February 23, 2010 . 12:39am

Arc System Works released a batch of Blazblue: Continuum Shift screenshots showcasing the extra arcade characters and lesson mode.

Check out Tsubaki, Hazama, and λ-11, three of the characters made just for Blazblue: Continuum Shift. Where’s μ-12 you say? There’s some concept art for her, but we’ll have to wait for the next set of screens to see what the newly created console exclusive character can do.

  • Neat. But having paid full price day one for BlazBlu, I think I’ll wait until this version drops in price before picking it up…

I have the same situation with SF4 and BB, though I’m really tempted by SSF4.

Bang inside Litchi’s clinic? I’m sold!

  • I’m a LITTLE disappointed that with the releases such as Super Street Fighter IV and BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, we can’t just have the previous installments patched with the additions/changes instead of having to purchase a whole new game. At least the cost of SSFIV isn’t going to be as much as the original though.

Maybe BB: CS could do the same.

That is a bit much, asking for a very major patch from a hardcore genre that does not make much money due to being highly competitive and complex.

Why are people complaining about the possibility of full price? They’re adding a tutorial mode with voiceovers, a bigger story mode, 3 characters, better netcode, better balance, a change in gameplay mechanics, beginner’s controls, and a challenge mode. Do you really expect them to give that in a patch or $10 DLC? The 3 characters is certainly not less effort than SSF4’s 8, considering that Blazblue characters play much differently from each other than SF4’s, and blazblue is more complex and harder to balance. Hardcore fighting games need money.
If you got 50+ hours out of enjoyable, exciting competitive playing of BBCT, I don’t see why you wouldn’t put down similar money for CS, with more characters to possibly master or adapt to at least.
