By Spencer . February 23, 2010 . 9:03am

imageTaito is the latest company to capitalize on the Hatsune Miku hype. An expansion pack for their rhythm shooting game, Music Gun Gun, adds the vocaloid idol and her music.

Music Gun Gun is like the child of Elite Beat Agents and a light gun game. Players pick a song and shoot targets inside a circle before a time meter runs out (something like Virtua Cop) while everything moves to the music. Soon, Hatsune Miku’s music when the expansion pack comes out. The new version of Music Gun Gun has 2.5 times the content and Hatsune Miku dressed in a muse police outfit.

Hatsune Miku looks right at home. Wonder what else, if anything else, Taito has planned for her.

I’m sort of indifferent to Miku but this game sounds pretty awesome, I want to try it some day (Wii port?).

It seems like a good fit, but I’ve yet to see any Type X2 game ported to the Wii. Though we did get a Type X port in Shikigami no Shiro 3.

rar, you know what would be awesome — a new Ouendan game T_T’

  • Neat! I wish there was a game like that over here. I hope they use some pretty good songs, not just typical songs Miku is famous for..

Not that surprising really, all of Taito’s game centers are loaded with Hatsune Miku prizes as it is.
