By Spencer . February 24, 2010 . 11:26pm

image Square Enix just uploaded iPhone ports of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II. Each game costs $8.99 and is based on the PSP remakes.

Players move on the overworld using a virtual d-pad and dash button. In battle, commands like fight and magic are selected with newly made touch screen menus.

Soul of Chaos and Labyrinth of Time dungeons from the last revision of Final Fantasy are in this edition. Final Fantasy II on the iPhone includes Soul of Rebirth and the Arcane Labyrinth.

I wonder if there are also some CGI cutscenes?

Repeat rant about PSP/DS owners getting ripped off by the same games being on the iPhone for $20-30 less. Grrrrrrrr.

You tell me. The same thing happened again with Broken Sword.

Granted the iPhone costs a lot more than a DS or PSP, but the fact that you’ll get all these games for 20-30$ less (and in higher resolution too)… technically speaking, ten games would be enough to justify the difference in price, considering that you also get a phone I mean.

Of course, personally I’d miss the D-pad, so I prefer to stay on the normal portables…

I’d rather have the PSP versions honestly. The game controls much better on PSP and you have an actual game/case/manual.
