Yes, You Can Play Deadly Premonition In English On PS3

imageIgnition is only releasing Deadly Premonition as an Xbox 360 game in North America. In Asia, it’s known as Red Seeds Profile and it’s a multiplatform game.

Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong notes the PlayStation 3 release has a language option. You can play Red… I mean Deadly Premonition in Japanese or English if you get the “Asian” version. Of course, you’ll have to import it and that will cost way more than a domestic copy of Deadly Premonition.

Deadly Premonition is in stores now and only $20 here.

IGN handed this game a 2.0 out of 10. From what the video they took showed this game is really quite boring looking and the main characters face is quite creepy.

True, but a number of people are questioning going with that low of a score, with even one reply pointing out how nearly everyone on the NeoGAF forums, which are apparently known for not hesitating to utterly rip a game apart, is loving the game.

From the little I’ve played so far I will admit that it has it’s flaws, but it is most certainly not a 2.0 game. The gameplay works and the story seems to be intriguing, if not utterly insane, enough to be worth playing through. Also, the $20 MSRP certainly doesn’t hurt.

Anyone else sell it besides GameStop?

Amazon has it for $20 now, can you order from them?

I wouldn’t put any stock in IGN reviews (they gave Shadow Hearts a 5, a 5?), I would say gametrailers is more balanced. I also plan on getting this on 360 to complement Heavy Rain, I want to play both. I don’t expect it to be very good, but should be fun for $20.

Yeah, I had to last night cause the evil empire (gamestop) minions were taking all the copies and holding it for employees so no one else could buy it. Reason 2038 not to go to GameStop.

Yeah this game is definately not a 2.0. It’s no masterpiece but for $20 it’s well worth it. I’d pay more for it. The gameplay is fun and storyline is pretty gripping. I’m switching between it and Heavy Rain atm and I would almost go as far as to say I’m enjoying deadly premonition more. It’s a true survivor horror in every sense of the word and that’s someting we haven’t seen in a loooong time.

From what I’ve read on NeoGAF, it doesn’t sound like a bad game at all.
I’m considering importing the Asian versio for the English language support. But the SCE HK site doesn’t give specifics on “English” support. Are we talking only English text or does the game also have the fantastically hilarious English VO too?

    • I would think that since Ignition paid for the English VA, Sony can’t just freeride it. Either way, I’d _REALLY_ like to know as well.

Where are you getting it from? I can only find the Japanese version, and that’s 90$+.
