PlayStation Network is one step closer to Virtual Console with support from Hudson’s TurboGrafx games and maybe SNK’s NeoGeo catalog.
The ESRB rated Alpha Mission II, Baseball Stars Professional, League Bowling, and Super Sidekicks as individual PlayStation 3 and PSP games. That’s interesting because a PsOne port of Super Sidekicks doesn’t exist
This leak suggests SNK’s library of NeoGeo games are going to be distributed as PlayStation Network downloads just like Hudson’s TurboGrafx-16 titles, which are PS3 and PSP compatible.
Hopefully Sony gets on this ASAP for the US/EU because I am sick and tired of seeing Bonk 1-3 and Alien Crush on the JP PSN. Having those games on my PS3 would be great but having them on my PSP, absolutely necessary. That to me is still one of the DSi's biggest failures, the lack of being able to play the Wii's virtual console titles on the go.
Sony actually promised NeoGeo support way, way back in 2006 iirc. Before Virtual Console announced Neo games actually. Nice to see it finally happening.
Now I wonder when MSX and Sega are going to take the plunge?
Dreamcast Classics and I'll start purchasing DLC.
Rather than that. I'd love to see Phantasy Star Online Collection put on PS3 upgraded to 1080(or 720)p. 1, 2, Blue Burst, even 3. That'd probably be my favorite PS3 game.
If this were to happen i'd happily purchase many of my neogeo favourites! At least, they're a lot better than the PS1 port.
Might go for that bowling one! Nice to see support like this.

Very, very interesting…
Also, usually when it's a PS1 game (at least lately), the company in question is generally Sony, even if it wasn't published by them back in the day.
Maybe SNK decided to take their PSP Neo-Geo emulator (from the numerous PSP collections they have), bundle it with a Rom and make each game a “Mini”? Thus playable on both PS3 and PSP…
