Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love Pushed Back One Week

By Spencer . March 2, 2010 . 6:48pm

image Just a little note about Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love’s release date. It won’t be in stores on March 23. NIS America rescheduled its release to March 30.

The one week delay is for both versions. Wii owners can purchase the game with English voiceovers and added pointer controls for $29.99. The PlayStation 2 version is sold as a premium package with an artbook, Gemini Sunrise poster, and game with English plus Japanese voice acting for $39.99.

Europe gets the Wii version (and only the Wii version) on April 9.

If that’s what it takes to get it done right they can delay it as long as they have to. I know everyone wants their big games released by the end of the March but I really hope this isn’t rushed out the door too soon.

  • I can live with this; gives me more time for the 30 other games I’m trying to catch up on right now!

  • Ereek

Well, the delay gives me time to beat the countless other March releases before it comes out. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

  • It just keeps getting better.

I can only imagine what problem arose this time that merited just one week’s delay.

    • Ereek

It doesn’t necessarily have to be a problem with the game. They may have had some problems with the production, distribution, or it might even be a strategic delay.

If it were a problem with the game, it wouldn’t take a week to fix. It would take longer.

      • I was thinking the same thing. I can’t think of many game-related problems that could be fixed in a week this late in development.

They can take as long as they want, though. This release apparently matters a lot to a lot of people, so there’s no excuse for it being anything short of excellent by now.

Yeah, Ar Tonelico 2 was delayed two months and we all know how well the game turned out in terms of quality.

Despite that, I have confidence that NIS will get it right with Sakura Wars. Cut content (Rhapsody DS) and bugs (AT2) be damned!

Thankfully the delay is not an indication of poor quality (as the Japanese version has been out for quite some time). If they moved it for a better release window then good for them, going up against God of War and Final Fantasy is never a good idea. Not to mention that even Wii is getting Fragile this month.

woah! $30 for the Wii version?! though I think Im going to wait first….

  • Smart idea, considering all the other games coming out around the same time (or should we say … the same day?).

  • ‘Europe gets the Wii version (and only the Wii version) on April 9.’

and feueyeuyeyuueyey «« you NIS ……. i bought Mana kehmia colletors edition for Ps2 and this is how you treat me «« thanks alot !
Europeans Happen to like collectors editions ALOT you know ««
    mehhh disapointment ««

At least Europe is getting the game. ATLUS still doesn’t have a European branch to release their titles over there.

Honestly, you should be a bit more appreciative, I think.

      • And so close to the US release as well! Times sure have changed~~

      • Well im sorry im pissed BUT i dont own a Wii ! (no i dont, not yet «« shoot if you like ) And i was looking foward to this game since i am a Sakura Taisen Fan !
I should be more apreciative? O_O
Its just the same as EU gets FF13 CE or heavy Rain edition and Us doesnt, think that they are happy?
I would be apreciative if everyone could get access to it .
As for Atlus at least the games are still published here «« i got all shin megami tensei that i could!

      • Oh right we didnt get demons soul’s , but since its for Ps3 its import friendly !

  • Slashlen

It’s just a week, but the farther away they move from that mess in March the better.

  • wharcraff

I can live with this somewhat. Once my store brings in a copy I’ll be happy. Those NIS games get rare unless they get a reprint.

  • thebanditking

No big deal not like Im not swamped with releases already. Besides I can wait for what will likely be my last PS2 game *sniff* I will miss you buddy.

  • Joanna

Late question: Is there a reason why the Wii version doesn’t have dual audio while the PS2 version does?

    • No official statement was given regarding that, but the reasons probably aren’t good.

  • I can wait, as long as it’s not buggy.
